    Research Assistants – Faculty of Engineering and Technology – 2 years fixed term

    £26,052 - £31,076 per annum

    The Faculty of Engineering and Technology are looking to recruit highly motivated Research Assistants to join our team and contribute to the achievements of the Faculty.

    You will work within specified research grants and/or projects within the Faculty, to undertake research, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and fieldwork and conducting literature and database surveys. To contribute to the analysis and presentation of results to internal/external audiences, to be able to contribute to research proposals’ writing and submission.

    You will assist in carrying out research support activities in one of the following areas of research:

    - Built Environment

    - Electrical Engineering

    - Mechanical Engineering

    - Computing

    - Maths

    - Civil Engineering

    - Astrophysics

    You will also undertake work on technical development projects which are of benefit to the Faculty.

    Skilled in one of the subject areas identified, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of concepts, and will also ideally have experience in the subject area you are applying for.

    You will be able to thrive in a team environment, provide help to other members of the team, and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the Faculty. You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and have the ability to deal confidently and diplomatically with a range of personalities and staff at all levels of seniority.

    Applicants will ideally have a degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience) and ideally have experience of working in a similar or related environment. Experience of research funding and the associated procedures is also desirable.

    Research Fellows – Faculty of Engineering and Technology – 2 years fixed term

    £32,004 - £38,183 per annum

    The Faculty of Engineering and Technology are looking to recruit highly motivated Research Fellows to join our team and contribute to the achievements of the Faculty.

    You will develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research projects, acting as principal investigator where appropriate. Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to research and appropriate external activities. Make presentations at conferences, or exhibit work in other appropriate events, and write up research work for publication. Lead or actively engage in proposal writing.

    You will take the lead in carrying out research support activities in one of the following areas of research:
