Welcome Reception - Spaceport

Delegates will be ferried across the river Mersey to Spaceport, a science centre covering the subjects of astronomy, space and space travel. A self-guided tour of the exhibition galleries, to include a Spacedome Planetarium show, will be followed by a buffet and drinks reception in the first floor area. Delegates will return to Liverpool by Mersey Ferry, from on board which they will enjoy a panoramic view of the Liverpool skyline.

Conference Dinner Crowne Plaza Hotel

The Conference Dinner will be held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which is situated on the waterfront and only 10 minutes away from the symposium venue. The hotel is adjacent to the Royal Liver Building, one of Liverpool's most famous landmarks and part of Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City, which was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.

Drinks Reception and Private View - Tate Liverpool

All delegates are invited to attend a drinks reception at Tate Liverpool. This is one of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art in the UK. At the time of the symposium, Tate Liverpool will host the most comprehensive exhibition of Gustave Klimt's work ever presented in the UK - and one of the highlights of the Liverpool Capital of Culture Events Programme. Delegates will enjoy a private view of this exhibition and also of a major display of some of the best works from the Tate Collection. Tate Liverpool is housed in a converted warehouse within the Albert Dock, which is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and only a few minutes away from the symposium venue.
