Wide Wavelength coverage

WAGGS spectra cover 3300 to 9000 Å allowing a wide range of spectral features to be studied from molecular bands in the near-ultraviolet to the near-infrared calcium triplet.

Intermediate Spectral Resolution

WAGGS spectra have a resolution of R = 6800 allowing weaker spectral features to be studied and the internal kinematics of globular clusters to be studied.

Wide Range of Metallicities and Ages

WAGGS includes spectra of 86 globular clusters spanning metallicities of −2.4 < [Fe/H] < −0.1 and ages of 20 Myr to 13 Gyr from four galaxies.

Spectra Publicly Available

Integrated spectra of all 86 globular clusters are available for download from the Australian Astrophysical Observatory website.
