| This picture was taken in late 1991. I'm sorry to say that things haven't improved significantly. Anyway, a little bit about me. I am a Lecturer in the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University, where I moved in March 2006. Apart from research (which I actually enjoy -- most of the time anyway!), I play poor bridge, watch Formula One, and support Liverpool FC. A brief summary of my astronomy career includes graduate student work in the Astrophysics subdepartment at Oxford University, followed by postdocs at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a NASA facility run by the California Institute of Technology. After that, I spent 5 years at Subaru Telescope in Hilo, Hawai`i, ascending to the lofty position of Senior Support Astronomer. I came back to the UK on an Advanced Fellowship, which I originally took to the Astronomy Group of Durham University before moving to LJMU. I'm a member of Amnesty International. I ask that you consider joining too. |
