Stellar Evolutionary Tracks

This applet visualizes stellar evolution tracks, following the evolution of the star's Age, Luminosity, Radius and Effective Temperature.

Note: Whenever the radius becomes too small a wide circle centered on the position of the star is shown on the screen. Its purpose is only to localize the star and it is not related with the actual stellar size.

You can choose among different examples of evolutionary tracks given below, or better, if you have one of your own you can see it with this applet.

• M = 1 Msolar, Z = 0.001

• M= 1 Msolar, Z = 0.004

• M= 1 Msolar, Z = 0.100

• M =12 Msolar, Z = 0.004

• M= 20 Msolar, Z = 0.004

• M = 60 Msolar, Z = 0.004

• M =60 Msolar, Z = 0.100

• M = 120 Msolar, Z = 0.004
