Professor Mike Bode nominated for "Knowledge Leader of the Year"
Professor Mike Bode of the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University was honoured to be short-listed for the 2013 Liverpool Post Leaders Awards hosted at the City’s Hilton Hotel.
Professor Bode was short-listed down to three of 250 local business leaders and academics for the award of "Knowledge Leader of the Year he commented that he was "delighted to be nominated alongside John Lewis (MD of SOG) and Professor Susan Smith (Head of Daresbury Laboratory) and John was a worthy winner".
John Lewis said after his award "I am extremely honoured and somewhat humbled to receive such a prestigious award, considering the calibre and the notable achievements of the other candidates. It’s incredible to receive recognition at such a high-profile ceremony involving so many of Merseyside’s outstanding business, cultural, academic and political leaders. I’m sure my former teachers at Liverpool’s Gateacre Comprehensive School will be very proud of me."
