I am a faculty member at the Astrophysics Research Institute of LJMU in Liverpool. I obtained my PhD in Physics in Tokyo. After postdoctoral stints in Jerusalem, Osaka and Pennsylvania, I joined ARI in 2005. My research focuses on the hydrodynamics and radiation processes of gamma-ray bursts and the astrophysics of stellar or massive black holes including hypervelocity stars, tidal disruption events, compact stellar mergers and gravitational wave astronomy. I am leading theoretical activities in the Liverpool GRB team.

If you are interested in PhD programmes at ARI, you would check this page. We usually review applications for our PhD studentships in Feb. UK postdoc/research fellowships are listed here. For more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
